Awareness of Good Touch and Bad Touch

S.E.International School had invited  Hon'bl Sr.Police Inspector. Mrs. Vandana Shirgire,  to share views related to Child's Safety and Awareness  on "Good touch and Bad touch".

Now a days, Young youth is falling prey to the unwanted activities done in the society.
So, the major steps taken by the Principal. Mrs. Jaya Kunder, to literate students about the environment, the society which we live in.

And how to protect and be safe in such society and take steps against the people who work on this negative or unwanted paths, which are dangerous for the Humanity and for the well being of our Country.

Save the Children protects children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence in all regions of the world.  Our programs focus on the most vulnerable children while aiming for the safety and well-being of all children. Working with governments, international organizations, and local community partners, we strive to create lasting change with improvements in policy and services that protect children whether in a natural disaster, conflict, or development setting.
Kids see strangers every day in stores, in the park, and in their neighborhoods. Most of these strangers are nice, normal people, but a few may not be. Parents can protect their children from dangerous strangers by teaching them about strangers and suspicious behavior, and by taking a few precautions of their own.

The Concept of Child Safety
Child safety is essential for healthy growth of children and therefore parents should ensure that their children are away from risks which may adversely affect them mentally and physically. Also children should be protected from bad habits, attitudes, words and also protecting them from diseases. This protection will ensure that those children are safe from suffering, harm, neglect or child abuse. However, this should be balance since being overprotective on children can have adverse effects on child upbringing thus affecting the personal development of children negatively. Therefore, should come up with necessary measures aimed at balancing between child upbringing and protection.

Over Protectively:-
Overprotected children usually grow up to become adults who are risk averse in life and also they tend not to feel responsible both to themselves and also to others. Parents are advised not to overprotect their children and instead they should learn on how to balance all things and coming up with new approaches of child protection and upbringing. Also parents should train their children to be independent, give them an opportunity to experiment and learn things which are around them where they will be able to learn from their
mistakes.

What Else Parents Can Do

In addition to teaching children how to recognize and handle dangerous situations and strangers, there are a few more things parents can do to help their children stay safe and avoid dangerous situations.

·         Know where your children are at all times. Make it a rule that your children must ask permission or check in with you before going anywhere. Give your children your work and cell phone numbers so they can reach you at all times.
·         Point out safe places. Show your children safe places to play, safe roads and paths to take, and safe places to go if there’s trouble.
·         Teach children to trust their instincts. Explain that if they ever feel scared or uncomfortable, they should get away as fast as they can and tell an adult. Tell them that sometimes adults they know may make them feel uncomfortable, and they should still get away as fast as possible and tell another adult what happened. Reassure children that you will help them when they need it.

·         Teach your children to be assertive. Make sure they know that it’s okay to say no to an adult and to run away from adults in dangerous situations.
·         Encourage your children to play with others. There’s safety in numbers!
