Parent-teachers meet ( PTM ) , is similar to visit to doctor's clinic.
Parent want to know about his child in  limited amount of  time.
Whenever there is a PTM, parent need to do homework, before the meeting - so that meeting is fruitful.

Enquire with child , how things are going at school, what does he like at school, and where he is having trouble with?

Do not use time to ask questions about basic school policies in PTM. These information are usually found in school diary, or on website or by calling office during business hours. PTM, is the hour for  child's feedback- so parent should make most out of it.

Parent need to establish rapport with teacher. Parent and teacher should be on the same page for better result of child development.
Never argue with teacher, she is not blaming the child, the meeting is for seeking the other avenues of developments. Teacher is on child's side and both parent & teacher are having the same goal.

Parent should get involved with teacher and school.
Parent can consider volunteering to a field trip or for any program.
